Also in the news today, Earth is the 3rd planet from the sun, rain is wet, and the sun is hot. Seriously, someone thought they were clever when making this and thats what is really sad lol. Trying to make a certain classes move set super unique in a game now days is like trying to make a wheel more round.
eh, there's plenty of unique MMO classes & combat out there. (tor's just isn't one of them :\ )
I am 100% aware of what forum this post is in before I even started writing this.
So at first glance I said the same exact thing. $#@!, you can find evidence of me saying this same exact thing in multiple threads when I first started playing.
SW:TOR = WoW + ME2
Now granted both are good games there are much more terrible places to get your inspiration from. There are a lot of things about TOR that appear to be carbon copies of WoW on the surface. When you look deeper and play for a bit you find that both games have different things that they do better. You also find that they aren't as similar as they appear on the surface.
For this comparison they picked the one class that is a solid parallel to WoW. The rest of the classes are absolutely nothing like anything from WoW and are each individual and interesting in their own way. Hell, Trooper Heals shares more with the TF2 medic than it does with any other MMO class. No seriously, dude has a medic cannon with a green beam, it's $#@!ing awesome.
I'm not going to try to explain any further, not worth it in this post. I find it difficult to understand the insane TOR hate from people who haven't even given the game a chance. It's not perfect but it's certainly not the horrendous mess that some people seem to think it is.

i should really make a chart showing how WoW copied SWG's char classes. People are idiots if they think TOR is copying WOW, its a $#@!ing MMO you turds, there is only so many ways to do combat in an MMO, of course there are going to be a lot of similarities! Look at any other game type and all the games in that are similiar.
Good game, watched my buddy play it for about 3 hours. Still not worth the monthly fees.

Saying WoW copied SWG doesn't make any sense. If you want to be more specific you say WoW copied Everquest. In reality, if people want to get hateful, World of Warcraft is nothing more than a well done Everquest clone.

Except he didn't mention that in the Battlenet Forums Press release in 2001 that Bnet specifically said they loved playing EQ and were specifically copying it to have own their better version of it. Releasing it commercially was just for Funzies and b/c they didn't want to play it alone...
