I wasn't on when this initially took place last night, but someone going under the name of 'looking for...' was bragging about being able to mess up the servers. After some goading he ended up DoSing the servers from what I can tell, it eventually stopped around the time I hoped on, but we would still get occasional lag spikes and projectiles wouldn't always register or were lagged.
Today it's happening again and people are warping around the screen, lerp is going yellow, and ping is all over the place. Getting about 8 tic in combat out of 66. From what I've also heard it's affecting all the TF2 servers, I'm currently posting while on the 24/7 Payload Server.
If it is a DDoS, talking to the ISP might be needed to fix this. Either way, I'm bringing it up so you guys know what's happening.

Ya, I was playing in the 24/7 Paload server and the lag was pretty bad. Not as bad as 2 days ago, when my ping was like 700, but still bad.
I was there when this guy was threatening the server. He claimed to be using a bot net of some sort, and that he could "just push the button to keep the server off" and keep it off as long as he wanted.
I am sure his ISP would love to hear about this guy... just sayin
his name was "looking for unusuals" (or unusual hats or something like that)
We have taken care of/blocked the threat. Our network security team has completed tracing the offender to his home. We will be contacting the authorities and the users IP and they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Good work level 3s for tracing his IP through the (undoubtably using) proxies and for the vigilant server goers for keeping an eye out for these things!
