Final Fantasy XII. The Zodiak Spear. The best weapon in the game, and you basically NEED the guide to be able to get it. not to mention all the crafting recipes in Kingdom Hearts 2. plus, i love the Fallout 3 guide, as it came with a pullout map reversible map with the Capitol Wasteland on one side and the Subway System on the other. Also, bobbleheads... bobbleheads FOR DAYS!

i may, or may not, have reserved the Fallout: New Vegas GOTY guide.

I don't remember what game I got when the guy tried giving me the guide speech, but I just laughed at him and said "If I need help, the internet exists". My gamestop is full of pretty cool guys though. Talked with them for 45 minutes one day about Skyrim. Not every gamestop is filled with employees that do that.

Funny story that's only very slightly relevant to GameStop. A cute girl attended me the other day and I couldn't remember why she looked familiar. This REALLY bothered me since I just don't forget faces. I asked and she said I was a friend of her ex boyfriend. Then it all came back to me. I made fun of her for looking like a 12 year old boy. Well now she's filled out and with long hair and... Is actually really attractive.

Moral of the story: don't go to GameStop. Bad things happen.

I learned about this practice in high school. That's one of the reasons I stopped going there. I buy a game new b/c I don't want it to be opened with the possibility of scratches, not b/c some douchebag didn't own it before me. I can go to WalMart and buy it brand new same price and not deal with that bull $#@!.

Also, they would always pester me into buying extra $#@!. Game guides, Preorders for Call of Duty 20, Warranties, Microsoft Points, and the whole "MVP" bull$#@!. You have to pay to get a bonus card that gives you extra trade in value or a discount on used games. It's not that bad since you get a year subscription to a magazine, but with the Internet so wide spread I don't need a magazine to look at reviews and previews. And their game selection is based on preorders. If you live in an under populate area and enough people don't preorder a low radar game then the store may only get a few copies. Why waste your time with that when you can order online from any store?

Also, their motto "Power to the players" is bull$#@!. It's a marketing scam to suck in your money. They do not give a $#@! about gamers. That's why they buy your used game for $25 and resell it for $5 less than brand new with a $#@! ton of scratches. Honestly, don't endorse them. You get the same prices at Walmart. And Walmart prices matches. Best Buy and other stores have sales on games within the first month of release that you can price match with other stores, EXCEPT GAMESTOP. They charge full price for longer than any other store.

Vote with your wallet. I got tired of consoles. Steam is my new best friend. 10% off preorders AND pre download the game to play at midnight? Yes please. $#@! Gamestop's midnight releases.
