Apparently a source at vg247 has claimed the E3 surprise from Valve will be the Source Engine 2. IGN has also claimed this as well now from their own source.

There is another rumor going around but most are claiming unlikely since it comes from 4chan

eh well Respawn Entertainment is also coming to E3 with a big surprise as they have said in the last few days, but they havent said what... Respawn is getting funding from EA.. Valve promotes their products through EA.. both have a surprise? i figure people put two and two together. but i find it unlikely, valve usually doesnt do partnership stuff
....it's been what, about 6 years? a new engine does sound plausible.... but all we can do is wait and see.

those are the big names you know they're gonna update.. TF3 might take awhile, but you know DoDS:2 and CS:2 are gonna come out VERY SHORTLY after the new engine.
it's their biggest names, so to speak... why wouldn't they?
