Well clearly the issue your having is coming from you using Firefox, along with a Facebook Tab on it, and xFire in the backround.

Once you close the 3 F'ers you will be fine.

Nothing's wrong with Firefox.

So what would you suggest instead of FireFox? IE? Don't make me laugh. Opera? Who the hell uses Opera? Safari? Yeah right. Google Chrome? Possibly, but not likely.

I'm not using any theme with windows 7. My wall paper is black and the task bar is clear so it shows through black .

That's what Windows Aero is. It's the default Window Color and Appearance color scheme. It wastes graphic processing and drains your battery if you're on a laptop.
