Hello.
I have several friends in this community I cannot contact on an individual basis so I'm posting it here.
Last night my mom's boyfriend burned down her house, with me, my cat, and her still in it.

He lived 12 years. I got him when I was 6. He outlived 3 other cats and my mom always joked he would never die.

Well now, this is really $#@!ing sad. I can't even fathom what I would do if I lost everything. I am so sorry for your loss.
Edit: I just realized this is one of my rare acts of kindness. CHERISH IT DAMNIT.
If something seems hard at first then it's probably not worth doing.

I lost everything material. Even though my computer room and bedroom were not directly burned, everything smells like smoke / is soaked with water / covered in burned bits of roof insulation. I did save my laptop, which is what matters.
The important thing is that you're okay, everything else can be replaced with time
