As someone who consumes sweet n low on a daily basis, this would interest me greatly.

when the morning comes it doesn't seem to say an awful lot to me

Hi MG. welcome back to the forum. I"m glad you are taking your school work seriously and working hard at it. It's a good thing the FDA is already working on this problem (according to Csiko)..I'll sign your petition.

Before saying that, something you might want to consider (that's already been impacting my own health as one of the Facilities is literally 150 yds from my house), is the new push for Natural gas via "Fracking". Last night Obama was outright bragging about the expansion of these initiatives along with offshore drilling. And the scientifically proven bi-products of these fracking chemicals include synthetic Cyanide and Arsenic well above even the Bush-era standards for pollutants. In my area we mainly grow Beef, Apples, and Corn while stream runoff is extremely fast and errosive because we are in very steep mountains & plateau valleys which is also where a majority of the Drilling is being permitted. This runoff carries all the way down through a MAJORITY of the food-producing states in the USA. Basically, if it's in our Colorado soil, then it's in YOUR food too. These kinds of drilling operations are exploding in frequency all over the country much faster than any other Energy production initiative in the country because it's the largest/cheapest combustable fuel source with the least amount of regulations and taxes. And a majority of the places it's happening in are also farming communities.

This is gonna be a half bump/update.

My team made it past the first round, so March 4th we have to present again. In the time we're trying to make our project better, and to start we're going to want a LOT more people to sign our petition. We had roughly 10 the day of the competition. Last Friday our team got to meet a representative for our county, and he told us what we should be looking for and stuff like that as far as trying to start a "law". I'm going to, again, encourage more people to sign the petition. I've edited the OP with a pretty... embarrassing video we shot about our project. Feel free to skip a minute of the intro.

Latest news I'm aware of is that fracking itself isn't the problem, the problem is that just about everyone is doing it in a "wrong" way that is producing these by-products.

Thanks . If I'm lucky I'll be able to get ~50 sigs online, that would be a good start for our team.

Mg you really need to talk to Richarddrmc. He is actually a funded scientist working on arsenic in water and foods.

He says Dr. Oz is a sensationalist and I have to agree with him.. Oz learned all that from Oprah. But if it was a big problem we would have a slew of dead apple juice enthusiasts . You don't sell newspapers telling the whole truth otherwise you will have low sales.

He'll the oil from cashew shells is poisonous and puffer fish sushi style can be too if done incorrectly. The world is a deadly place, and we can go out anytime. Last thing I am going to worry about is naturally occurring arsenic in apples.

Doctor Oz did an episode focused around arsenic, in fact
I'm actually much less inclined to take this seriously now...
