Thread: Useful Tools in Deal Finding

Here are a few tools I have found extremely useful in finding some great deals.

Google shopping (Google Product Search) aggregates many sites and prices to help you compare prices all in one place. Just be sure you are looking at a reasonably reliable retailer.

Steam Prices (/us SteamPrices.com) has an excellent tool that tracks steam price history. Remember when that game was on sale on steam? How much was it? Check here.

Steam's retail CD key activation list (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...7480-wusf-3601) Will this boxed copy game I bought activate on steam? Check here. Many other digital distributors (amazon, direct2drive, gamersgate) will give you a game key and some of those can be activated on steam.

I have a couple of Firefox add-ons that are amazing.

Invisible Hand. Automatically get the lowest price when you shop online or search for flights. InvisibleHand shows a discreet notification when a better price is available on a product or flight you're shopping for. Covers over 580 retailers in the US, UK & Germany. If it finds a better price (shipping included) a bar will pop up at the top of your browser. When you click it you can see all the retailers and the lowest to highest prices.

PriceBlink. Same thing as Invisible Hand. It also finds coupons for the website you are currently on. The coupons are sometimes crap though. For example, on Netflix it says there's a coupon for a free 1 month trial, but that's always available. US Only.

1saleaday.com Everyday there is a different sale. Sometimes the sales are crappy and sometimes they are super awesome. You just have to look up the item to see what it's really worth.
