I don't think I'll ever agree with their definition of "press".
But hey, atleast we'll get some more high resolution pics. We could certainly use more of those.

Soooo they started the closed beta? Hard to read out of context because someone said they got the beta in there. Guessing he works for them?
Closed beta started back in December (the 16th to be specific)
Right now they're doing a press beta and then we'll have beta events for the rest of the folks.. then hopefully release soon after

Well Im just out of the loop lol. Is there a place we sign up to opt into the beta?
No.. as of right now the best way to get in would be signing up for the newsletter and pray for an invite.. there hasn't been any clear cut application process to get into to beta... My chance of getting into it is as good as everyone else's..

Ok thanks I will go do that now. Good to know I have an equal chance at the beta, if it stays that way. Never played the first one but I dont got enough towels to clean up all this drool.
Just to make a clarification:
The NDA will NOT be lifted... select members of the press will be allowed to talk about experiences.. but that's about it.

I don't understand why they are doing it like this. It seems lik.. I don't know.. The game looks soo good but the company... Goddamnit don't $#@! this up Arenanet.. What the hell are you doing?
...Not the company.... their idiotic Marketing Dept. The Company is fine. Mike O'Brien, Eric Flannum, Jon Peters, Colin Johanson, Jeff Grubb, their Artists.... all of them are super $#@!ing awesome people! But their Support & Marketing (and the "skill Balancing guy" Isiah Cartwright) heads are all a bunch of stubborn jerks who have always refused to listen to their Veteran players. Infact they actually blame the Veteran players for most of their woes. They also do whatever the hell they want apparently and O'Brien & NcSoft just let them apparently. (<-- and this is why I'll never ever be in any of their Betas, b/c the biggest flaw with everyone there is that they never grew up so can't handle criticism). Their Fanboy Fansites aren't any better though, I get infractions on them anytime I post anything even remotely as scathing as this. Dedication to their game isn't enough, you have to ignore all their flaws too if you wanna be in their inner-circle.
