There is no definitive timeline on this but, I just got done chatting with Wazz our developer and he is pretty confident Freezetag will be working for good when he is done re-writing it in c++.
Wazz: "ran a 10 hour bot test on it today (loaded it up with 32 bots playing and checked on it every once in a while) which it did perfectly, its a primitive test and doesnt catch all the bugs but its a good milestone that shows all the fundamentals are there"
Things are looking good and I hope that we get to fire it back up soon!

Happy the first test did well on 32 players too.

FT is a custom gamestyle that we had developed specifically for FFN. It was extremely popular but continuous valve updates completely wrecked the mod. Our developer Wazz didn't have enough time to fix it and we didn't have another developer available to do the work so it has been down for quite a while.Originally Posted by Forsetifox

The gameplay is exactly what you think it is. Get killed and you get frozen. Stand next to an ally for a certain time to unfreeze them. If you don't get unfrozen fast enough then you respawn. That is an oversimplification but I think it gives you an idea.
^ Oversimplification my ass. It is simple and it is $#@!ing amazing. I'm sooo glad it is coming back, you have no idea. This and the new update will bring me back once more. Hooray for Wazz!
