It seems that Battlefield 3 will mostly cater to Nvidia, but I'm sure it will still work well with AMD/ATI.
At around the 2:45 mark, he starts talking about the system requirements.

The $#@!tard interviewer says "It's 64 player multiplayer right? That's insane." Games have had 64 players for years.
Yes you have played games with over 200 players. However you have not played a game at this level of graphics that requires servers to use an insane amount of cpu power to be able to run 64 players.
