Well now I'm waiting on my beta invite more impatiently than before.
Well... the Closed beta is officially out and all I can really say is this.
I. Am. Totally. Addicted.
We're talking first starting to play tf2 again, addicted.
There's so much skill involved with the game with alot of classes (with some exceptions) in addition to now that people have had a chance to play the game alot more, I've been realizing that it will require so much teamwork that it's rediculous.
An example of how... beautiful this game is, watch this video... This takes the fastest class in the game and shows how fast it can really go. Don't worry about heavier classes as well, because even the heavy classes can get that sense of speed that seems unreal.
This is what brink could of been like, but they $#@!ed that up... The game moves flawlessly so far (even though I get 10 FPS in firefight (hooray $#@!ty comp!)) and the amount of speed and strategy is amazing.
Seriously... if you can, buy a Closed beta key for 30$, not only does it get you 30$ worht of gold, it gets you a 30 day booster (15$) and perma vip access (which nets you more exp/tokens after each match)
My only gripe right now is the lack of the VIP servers and only two maps on the regular, but it's just CB and they plan on putting out alot more content as time goes on.
Seriously... SERIOUSLY... if they let private servers out with the ability to get tokens... I think we've got a winner here
Anyone else in the beta? How has your time been so far :3

I've been playing a bit. Being new to the Tribes series, although i have watched quite a few casted games in the past, i am having a bit of a learning experience. All i have to say is that Rabbit is bleh in beta, one good skier and the game mode is complete $#@! for everyone else. Ill be on a good bit till the 8th.
I figured... here's a good look at the movement (using the fastest class in the game.. not everyone can go this fast)

Rabbit has always been one of those game modes for the hardcore crowd. It is mainly used to practice skiing, but the bread and butter of Tribes is CTF.
I am with Roland, the game is absolutely wonderful and is a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I was an avid Tribes 2 player ten years ago and the game puts a smile on your face the first few matches. This game has incredibly high skill level with large maps and lots of classes. There are some balance issues that need to be addressed, such as the ability to stack mini turrets.
The addition of in match credits to purchase vehicles and upgrade defenses is AWESOME. Gone are the days of sitting around waiting for more vehicles, now you can get them whenever as long as you have the credits for them. Sadly, I wish they included the bomber and transport vehicles in some of the maps, those were always fun.
If you're bored with TF2 and need a new FPS to pick up, go with this game. The $30 pack is worth it if you're even at all interested in this game.
I'm completely new to the series, and I am looooving the beta.
I'm so lost though, it's so funny when I am always shooting too far off.
Too strong of an opinion can interfere with the process of collection.
