The unfortunate truth is you are absolutely right. With the amount of money these big companies can throw at Representatives and Senators, it is pure folly to think that this issue is far from over. I won't go into to much detail, but the job of our government has changed over the past 70 years, quite drastically. They are no longer serving the people, they are serving the corporations. There is tons of data to support this, including the way laws and regulations have been passed. If people can't use google, I will be more then willing to provide links as to how much money every year (or as best as I can find) gets tossed that way.

The sad face of it is this: Yes, we are the american people, but we do not have the money to put politicians in our pockets. We can protest and we can shout and raise our voice, and that works. For awhile. Thankfully, it doesn't have to work for long. As the Gen X'ers are getting older and moving into office, I *hope* we will start to see a slight shift in policies that govern things like the internet and freedom of speech. Especially copyright.

But - we won this round. It will come up again. And again, until it either gets passed, or it takes an arrow to the knee. But it's not over until one of those two things happen. IMO they are shelving it until another president comes in, or more politicians in the pockets of said companies. and if that doesn't happen, all the better - but the fight is not over yet.
