A "Good" gaming laptop should run around 1200
Would love some help finding a new laptop. The most I want to spend is 800. Couple of requirements
1. Core i5 or i7
2. At least 4 gb ram
3. At least 500 Gb HDD
a Nvidia 555M or comparable would be great.
The best thing I can find is this.....
Best deal and Coupon HP Pavilion dv6 & dv6t Select Edition Quad Core i7 review - LogicBUY
I appreciate the help!
EDIT:
I'm just looking for something that can run tf2, left 4 dead 2, maybe guild wars 2 when it comes out.
I just want an upgrade from my 3 year old core 2 duo laptop. It can barely run tf2 on the lowest resolution.

Newegg.com - MSI GX740-434US Notebook Intel Core i5 460M(2.53GHz) 17.0" Wide XGA+ 4GB Memory 500GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870
if you dont mind going for a slightly older generation the 5870 is slightly more powerful than the nvidia 560, however it is far more power hungry this isn't a laptop that will have a great battery life![]()
For $800 you're not quite gonna get that but Just go to CyberPowerPC and build something that you like, like cut out the HD if you don't need so much HD space and stuff like that, that will get you the best you can for $800.
But really for a decent gaming lappy you wanna spend around $1200, and if you wanna try to future proof it go for like $1500. For the actual chassis I suggest you get something like the MSI 1656 series or any gaming series from Clevo, those will have the most possibility to change out/upgrade/repair components (MXM slots... PCI micro slots... modular components...)
$1200 is a little too much for me. Its not a gaming desktop replacement. I just bought a $2000 desktop for gaming.

You aren't going to find a gaming laptop for $800 or under, let alone a good one I'm sorry to say. That's just the world we live in now. If you're willing to invest the extra $100-$200, you can get a superb Asus notebook that'll last you quite a few years. Last I checked the specs sat around 6gb DDR3 1333mhz, core i7 CPU's, and GTX 460/560's with 500gb HDD's (For the $1000 range).
I was trying to find the laptop I have, but they dont sell it anymore. But, for 800$ your not going to find a decent laptop that has a good graphics card. And if you do find one, the graphics card will be good, but everything else will be low end. I would advise to go with a Sony Vaio ( links below ) or an Asus laptop. They will run all of those games fairly well... except probably GW2. My sony vaio runs TF2 and DoDS and Left for Dead 2 pretty well. Not amazingly well, but well enough that I can play them. I included links that are within your price range, and that, in my opinion, are about the best your going to get for 800$ ish.
Newegg.com - Recertified: ASUS G Series G73JH-BST7 Notebook Intel Core i7 740QM(1.73GHz) 17.3" 6GB Memory 640GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870

The first link will probably be your best bet, though its higher then your price range. And though its recertified, its still a good deal for what you are getting. The 2nd link is about what you can expect for 800$, and these are what you get for the most bang for your buck. If you can find a laptop that has the same specs as the ones in the 2nd link, but has an AMD CPU in it, I would go that route, just because its cheaper. AMD is a good brand - and the difference between Intel and AMD are small. Except for the price. ( and please, no one argue with that, I have hashed it out with so many people that it is no longer fun. )
If you have questions, feel free to ask. Or add me on steam and we can do some more specific shopping. Building machines and finding good deals for people is something I actually like doing. So please, feel free.
