    Desktop laziness

ok pretty much my desktop has something wrong with it, i know its not a virus or malware because i already scanned my computer pretty much it goes real slow now and continually stops responding on everything at the same time, it even stops responding while booting up, no clue whats goin on but its starting to bug me because it just stopped working while i was doing my homework.

anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

ps: no bs answers please this is a major problem for me

    Might be a RAM issue

Does it stop working or does it shut down?

Hmm could it be that you have so many programs running in the background that its just slow? Maybe check that out. Go to Start > Type msconfig in the search box, look in startup tab. Thats all of the stuff that loads when you boot up windows. Uncheck unnecessary programs (this is good to do even if its not the problem anyways)

Hmmm... I guess it could be a bad ram module or something. I will let the experts figure this one out, you got me.

Hard to say what it can be without directly observing the PC in action. To substitute this I recommend setting up a Teamviewer session and letting one of us observe the PC in action. That way we can narrow down what the problem is.

Can be HDD, Motherboard, RAM or CPU. By observing we can narrow down the list.

Its Vista... it $#@!ing sucks donkey balls. When I had Vista, I had nothing but mysterious problems with it, only after a month or two of ownership. For instance, after the 2nd month, it took my $#@! 20-30min just to get to the Password homescreen.

On my 10th month with Windows 7 now, still turns on within 1 or 2 minutes tops. To me, its a $#@!ing relief, and was more than worth the investment.

This has validity, clean install of Vista appears to have this hanging black screen after the initial loading screen. Update to Win 7 preferably, may solve the issue given known Vista quirks.
