With HoN going F2P yesterday I figured I should get around to making a little resource post for those of you starting out.
Sign up/Download
Prodex: Hero breakdowns, recommended items and skill builds. Also includes a map with ward placements.
Training Grounds: Some useful posts are in the section, it is worth checking over quick.
Honcast: Shoutcast of competitive play.
Tips:
When looking at the hero portraits in the top left of the screen there will be several icons that you can click, they are two curved arrows, a green circle, and a text bubble.
The arrows are clicked to share control of a monkey courier if you have purchased one, or control of your units by double clicking the arrows.
The green circle is used to turn on "no help", this will prevent teammates such as Blood Hunter from casting his Blood crazy skill on you, this skill can kill you. It will also prevent Pebbles from throwing you, Glacius from freezing you, and Succubus from Mezmerizing you.
The text bubble is used to mute a players in game voice, by default push to talk is 't'.
/ignore add Evilmaddhat , will ignore Debo in text chat when he is drunk.
/pa will display the ping of all players as well is the average ping for each side.
/gi will display the information about your game.
/banlist add <name> (reason) will add someone to your ban list. This feature will only let you know that you are playing with someone on you banlist and is more so used for hosting public games. Be sure to include a reason and match id to jog your memory on why you don't want to play with some one again.
ctrl+ right click: Moves items from you stash to your inventory and from inventory to stash.
ctrl+shift+right click: Sells the item that you click from anywhere on the map.
`+q: Upgrades the monkey courier to a flying courier if you have 200 gold.
`+buying items+(hold)shift+E+R+(release shift): Will set the monkey courier to deliver your items to you and return to base. Be aware of when you call your monkey out enemy creeps will kill your monkey and heroes will often target it to destroy your items. Monkey couriers have a bounty of 15 gold, flying couriers have a bounty of 300 gold.
c: centers your screen on your hero.
v: centers your screen on your current target.
Pausing: Each team is given 3 pauses, the opposing team can restart the game after 1 minute(?), this has changed in several patches and I'm not sure on the time.
Remake: If a remake vote is called by the other team because of a time out or disconnect be nice and pass it 4v5 is no fun. This vote can be called up until the 5 minute mark.
Concede: Concede votes can be called from 15 minutes onward, it requires all players on your team to pass before the 30 minute mark, after 30 minutes it needs 4/5 to pass.
More will be added later when I think of it, and formatting will be fixed later as well. I may add some more advanced stuff later as well, such as lane configurations, ward tricks, jungling, creep pulling/stacking.
If you have questions on specific items of heroes feel free to post a question I will do my best to answer and provide meaningful insight.

Prodex is freaking pro!
Also.. you guys should play casual mode to start out so you can get used to champs, cause CM doesn't really mean $#@!... only problem is that you can pickup some pretty bad habits when you switch over to normal... but atleast it'll be easy to figure out the shop...
My #1 biggest recommendations in this game
Learn the way of the danger monkey (not the actual monkey.. but.. learn the monkey)
Learn the shop..
those are pretty much the two biggest keys... there are still ALOT of other keys... but those two can be a big help

LoL > HoN Guide
This is a good guide for anyone that is new to HoN to read, but it also helps with the transition.
Honstats.org just finished their upgrade, you can use this to check your stats. It breaks down what your mmr/psr gain/lose is with each hero as well as links to all games that you have played in.
