I'm really looking forward to this update. I think how this goes will determine how many people are going to stick around after the new car.. er.. MMO smell wears off.
Game Update 2 will include three major pieces of content, as well as "full" Legacy game content. There's Part 2 of Rise of the Rakghouls, a brand new planet called Denova which has an 8-16 man Operation and a new Warzone. There may also be the release of several new space mission dailies. Guild banks will be added, as well as full legacy support.
Regarding the "full" Legacy game update, game director James Ohlen explained: "It's a system that really benefits players who like to play alts - instead of having characters who have no relation to each other you can create a family, and when you're playing any member of that family you earn experience points for your Legacy tree. Those then unlock abilities and perks that help improve all your characters. I think that's going to be popular. Characters can be related to your main character in all kinds of ways - siblings, father, son, friend, you could be married to them..."

Will we be able to interact with our other characters I wonder... like say for a conversation about a recent quest if they are light/dark 1 or neutral they choose the neutral response to you actions or if they are light/dark 2/3/4/5 they use that response to your actions that would be kinda interesting. Or maybe you could have quest specifically where you run into your own characters perhaps maybe even have rivalry's emerge between imperial and republic characters.
Just for clarification: Was this another one of those "Well were going to have a monthly update but now we're changing our development schedule... but it's okay cuz look at all the bonus stuff we're adding!!" ....?
No, this is a "This month's stuff we promised is coming out during this weeks maintenance and we're already working on the next big patch. Here is a preview!!!"
They never actually said they were doing monthly releases, that is something we keep saying. In general though it looks like 4 - 6 weeks between content updates will be the norm for a while.
Ah, good to know some companies have realized how important those perceptions are right after release..
